In 2024, we saw tremendous growth in the number of victims and families accepting Nonviolence Chicago victim support services. This growth was not by chance.
Victims of gun violence and perpetrators are often part of the same social network. Understanding how shootings are connected informs CVIs on how to best collaborate. By regularly reviewing the data with a defined strategy for collaboration, our outreach and victim services teams have been able to engage and support more individuals and families than ever before—enabling us to connect them to critical resources to help them through their healing process.
